Ed Pittock's Biography

When Ed Pittock founded Society of Certified Senior Advisors® in 1997, he sensed he was filling a sizable need among America’s seniors and the myriad professionals who serve this fast-growing population. Little did he realize back then just how huge that need was.

It was only logical, Ed reasoned back then, that the many professionals who catered to the over-55 population would benefit from a cohesive and comprehensive training program that dealt with the issues foremost in the minds of America’s seniors.

Those issues include mental and physical well-being, financial solvency, residency options, plus the many spiritual, legal and moral questions that run through peoples’ minds as they begin to age.

To create the kind of training he had in mind, Ed turned to experts in geriatric medicine, gerontology, elder law, financial planning, accounting and spiritual guidance among others.

In just 11 years, Society of Certified Senior Advisors has become the world's largest organization of its kind. More than 27,000 individuals have enrolled in the exclusive CSA training, and countless seniors have benefited from the sensitive and informed advice they’ve received from those who have learned the key principles taught.

Ed has addressed over 50,000 professionals and thousands of seniors on priority senior issues. In 2005, he was named Speaker of the Year by the National Society of Accountants and was a delegate to the White House Conference on Aging.

Ed has published articles in many senior magazines and professional journals and wrote the bookletAging Wisdom for Ageless Living. He is a member of the National Council on Aging, the American Society on Aging, the Gerontological Society of America, Business Forum on Aging, and Colorado Gerontological Society.

Ed earned his B.A. in Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
