Successful Medicare Insurance Webcast Held by SCSA

Another successful webinar! The Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA) produces monthly webcasts to help our Certified Senior Advisors gain more up-to-the-minute knowledge on current events and to help them serve as resources for their senior clients.

This month’s webinar, held on Thursday, December 3rd, covered the important topic of Medicare insurance, misconceptions, and the Medicare changes occurring in 2010. Specific topics discussed were:

  • Differences among Medicare A, Medicare B, Medicare C, and Medicare part D.
  • The differences between open enrollment, annual enrollment, and special enrollment.
  • 2010 Medicare plan changes to premiums, deductibles, and co-payments.
  • How to address common misconceptions about Medicare coverage, such as
    • "Medicare is free and covers everything."
    • "Medicare Part A with a Medigap policy is enough."
    • "I can enroll in Medicare whenever I want to."
    • "My doctor will tell me what I need for Medicare coverage."
    • "Medicare will cover my long-term care."

This hour long webinar included an instructional lecture and an informative question and answer session. In addition to our monthly webinar lectures, we provide multiple handouts every month to give to our Certified Senior Advisors. Our monthly webinars and handouts is just another way that SCSA is there to help its members grow their business and thrive.

ABOUT SCSA. SCSA was established in 1997 to enhance education and standards among professionals working with senior citizens. SCSA’s mission is to educate professionals to work more effectively with their senior clients. We believe that the right kind of planning, recommendations and referrals can make aging a state to be savored instead of a fate to fear. For those who work with seniors, this means understanding the key health, social and financial factors that are important to seniors—and how these factors work together. CSAs are able to integrate this into their professional practices, no matter what field they’re in. They’ve learned how incredibly gratifying it is to help seniors achieve their goals, and the seniors they’ve worked with have learned how important it is to work with someone who truly understands their age-related circumstances.
